I love distributed systems, database systems, storage systems, network systems, and anything related to systems. The most fascinating part of a system is how to make trade-offs under different circumstances. This is why systems are an interdisciplinary field: a good system integrates knowledge from all aspects of computer science and reveals wisdom in finance: cost control, expected profits, etc. I often study the designs of different systems, analyzing various techniques a system has adopted and what trade-offs it has made. I also focus on the commercialization of a system: why do some excellent systems struggle during commercialization, while some ordinary systems are favored by most customers?
Analyzing systems is fun, and I will primarily share my thoughts on different systems here.

I am also a contributor of Velox. It is an open source high-performance database acceleration engines, which has been used by many organizations including Meta, IBM, and Microsoft. For those of you who are not familiar with it, TRUST ME: Velox is the path to the future of OLAP databases.
